Filberts, Domestic, Whole Natural Hazelnuts (Raw)

Filberts (better known as hazelnuts) are sweet, rich, strongly flavored nuts that contain a bitter skin that should be removed. To do this, place in a preheated 350-degree oven for approximately ten minutes or until the skins begin to flake. then place in a clean dish towel and rub vigorously to remove skins. (Or just purchase them blanched!) Keep refrigerated for maximum freshness.
